An amazing 2024, here’s to 2025!

We are already a week into 2025 following a roller coaster of a year in 2024!

I didn’t put anything out at the end of December as I have been battling with my Colitis and had a hernia repair thrown in for good measure. Thankfully, I am making a speedy recovery. A big thank you to the team at BHRUT Elective Surgical Hub, who were faultless in their delivery of exceptional care, making me feel relaxed and assured every step of the way.

While I was waiting for my operation, it gave me time to reflect on 2024 and what it has brought me as a member of the digital health and healthcare community, as well as for us as an organisation.

I have learned so much in the past year about relationships—nurturing those that truly matter and refocusing my energy on priorities that align with our vision.

One of those priorities has been strengthening existing client relationships through tailored support and mentorship. With many years of experience in the sector, we’ve enhanced our ability to advise organisations strategically.

We’ve advanced our training and mentorship programs to deliver real-world, scenario-based learning. This equips CSOs and digital health team members with the tools to effectively manage DCB0129/DCB0160 projects.

We are working towards ISO27001 and ISO9001 certification, aligning ourselves with these standards to further establish quality and assurance within DPM Digital Health.

What is the worth of a CSO?

We’ve created a working environment that is truly a pleasure to be part of. The positive steps we’ve taken as a team have allowed us to deliver the best possible service. Through this, we’ve supported numerous health organisations and digital health manufacturers with their regulatory compliance pathways—and we’ll continue to do so into 2025.

Personally, I started the podcast The Only Way is Ethics, which continues to gain support from the digital health community. It’s been humbling to have such open, passionate discussions with our guests. The podcast has also inspired the launch of Ethics Unplugged, which we hope will gain traction in 2025 with guest co-hosts supporting the CSO community.

I was honoured to speak at HETT North as part of a panel discussing the importance of and challenges in applying Clinical Risk Management to AI technologies.

I continue to serve on the BCS Clinical Safety Special Interest Group leadership committee, supporting the clinical safety community. Together, we aim to promote clinical safety and medical device standards in digital health, support early-career informaticians, and develop a mentorship and accreditation scheme. I look forward to seeing this initiative grow in 2025.

So, what can we expect in 2025?

We await the long-overdue revision of the NHS safety standards. This will hopefully bring positive alignment between the compliance pathway, advancements in development, and the rapid growth of AI technologies. I hope to support the focus groups and contribute to delivering a more sustainable compliance pathway in the UK.

The continued advancement of AI technologies within healthcare requires vigilance and assurance to support their safe deployment and use. With this in mind, we are developing an AI course that focuses on its application in healthcare, drawing on our expertise and experience.

We aim to strengthen the partnerships forged in 2024 and create new ones that will help us achieve our goals and provide exceptional service to our clients.

We will continue to support our clients on their regulatory compliance journeys, offering advice, guidance, and support wherever needed.

As we reflect on 2024, it has been a truly remarkable year for DPM Digital Health. None of our achievements would have been possible without the incredible support, collaboration, and dedication of our clients, partners, and colleagues.

To our clients, thank you for trusting us to support your digital health journeys. Your commitment to advancing safer, more effective healthcare inspires everything we do.

To our partners, your expertise and shared vision have elevated our work, enabling us to deliver impactful solutions together.

To our colleagues, your tireless efforts, innovation, and professionalism have been the backbone of our success this year. I am deeply grateful for your commitment to excellence in every project we’ve undertaken.

2024 has been a year of growth, milestones, and meaningful connections, and I am immensely proud of what we’ve achieved together. As we look forward to 2025, I am excited for the opportunities that lie ahead and confident that, together, we will continue to drive positive change in digital health.

Thank you all for being a part of this journey. Wishing you a wonderful start to the New Year!
